Yorkshire born and bred I grew up in the countryside and have always loved the outdoors and exploring. My Africa journey started with a trip to South Africa, originally booked for three weeks, it very quickly became three months and an overland trip from Cape Town to Victoria Falls. This adventure ended with a safari in the South Luangwa in Zambia  when a new adventure started, a career change when I became a safari bush camp manager! I have been incredibly fortunate to manage camps in the South Luangwa in Zambia, the Serengeti, and Ruaha National Park in Tanzania. Being on the ground in Africa taught me so much about the safari industry and of course I had a lot of fun exploring!

Since returning to the UK, I have kept my passion for Africa alive, working as a Safari Specialist, a camp Representative, and Destination Management Consultant, courteously increasing my knowledge and exploring new destinations. I have been very privileged to work for some fantastic companies and with some wonderful people.

Travel is a key part of my life, I am always looking for my next adventure, be it to the remote African bush or a city break in Europe, I am never happier than when I am travelling. The remote African bush is what makes me smile the most, it is this passion for remoteness, conservation and sustainability that is at the core of what I believe makes a magical safari. My personal philosophy on safari is, if you want to get to know a place and an environment you need to go for a walk, for me exploring Africa on foot is something very special.
